About the course:
This self-paced reading activity highlights how the Parksmart Standard and the LEED v4.1 Standard are complimentary. While Parksmart mirrors LEED in many ways, there are also a number of credits and requirements unique to this program. In this course, you will gain insight into the Parksmart Standard Elements as well as recognize how the impacts of COVID-19 has both positively and negatively impacted sustainability efforts of the parking and mobility industry. The articles offer insight into lighting options, the Parksmart Standard credits and how they complement LEED v4.1, Transportation Demand Management as described by four organizations, and the Location and Transportation Credit category of LEED v4.1.
In this course, learn how to:
- Recognize the costs associated with various types of lighting through provided examples of first glance monetary savings versus long term monetary savings focusing on sustainability efforts.
- Distinguish between how Parksmart mirrors LEED in many ways including learning about the three categories of the Parksmart Standard and their more popular credit requirements.
- Recognize that the LEED green building rating system recognizes mobility as one of the key factors influencing building performance and sustainability outcomes and how the Location and Transportation credit category in LEED are tied to a building’s location, access to sustainable transportation modes, and support for low-carbon mobility.
- Explore how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted transportation demand management (TDM) strategies, programs, and modes of transportation.
