How To Earn Certification Points
Through your membership, several opportunities exist to earn Certification Points toward earning or maintaining a credential such as the PTMP or PECP. This is your guide to earning while learning.
First, we encourage you to look for symbols like this. The Certification Points logo on an event, on-demand, or instructor led course lets you easily determine the value of the course. Our points are awarded at the rate of one point per instructional hour, based on expected time of completion.
Opportunities to earn points include, but are not limited to:
Live and on-demand webinars
- 2026 Leadership Webinar Series earns 6 points and a completion certificate.

On-demand webinars earn one point each.
Frontline Fundamentals (Always free to members!)
- 2026 Series earn one point per training.
- On-demand Frontline Fundamental sessions earn one point each.
On-demand Courses
- Check the annual subscription bundle for over 30 courses worth Certification Points (varies by class).
- Review all on-demand course offerings (note: not all will be worth certification points - look for the symbol above).
- Instructor-led learning options. These courses are hosted live, and points vary by class.
In person events
- Conference & Expo. Earn up to 4 points toward PTMP certification based on the PTMP Program Type 2 maximums.
- On-site IPMI training. Customized to meet your teams needs. Email professionaldevelopment@parking-mobility.org for more information. Request courses online here.
- State and Regional Association Conferences. Approved sessions earn Certification Points, which will be shown on the event agenda or registration site.
Service on Boards or Committees
- This includes Board or IPMI Committee service. Earn 2 points per year of service up to the maximum of 4 points per year (two boards/committees).
- For PTMP Recertification only, not eligible for PTMP candidacy points.
Professional Presentation
- Serving as a presenter/co-presenter of a one-hour or longer educational presentation (virtual or in-person) that includes objectives and is related to the topics within parking, transportation, and/or mobility and is provided to an audience within the field can earn one certification point.
- For PTMP Recertification only, not eligible for PTMP candidacy points.
Write for us!
- Submit a feature article or column to earn one certification point (see print guidelines)
- Submit six blog posts to earn one certification point
- Contact editor@parking-mobility.org prior to writing/submitting for content approval or guidance.
