Empowering the Parker - The Benefits of Multiple On-Street Payment Option

The City of Atlanta is challenging the phrase “less is more” by being one of the first US markets to offer multiple payment applications to its parkers, empowering them to choose exactly how they want to pay for parking. Kelsey Owens, Director of Sales, and Mary Gray Cunningham, Director of Curbside Transactions, at Passport will explore the benefits of enabling multiple on-street payment options and how the City is making its community more accessible and tackling everyday challenges through technology.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will investigate the origins of the first open parking ecosystem model and will conduct a case study deep dive on how other parking pioneers have successfully implemented this approach
  2. Attendees will uncover the benefits and challenges associated with offering multiple parking payment options best practices learned from the City of Atlanta. The session will focus on other municipalities throughout the United States that are also paving the way in this space (for example, San Luis Obispo, CA and Spokane, WA)
  3. Attendees from all backgrounds will evaluate the different components of a successful parking operation and will have an opportunity to share their own experiences and best practices

Presenters:

Kelsey Owens, Director of Sales, Passport

Kelsey Owens is Passport’s Director of Sales and has been with the company for 8 years. While
at Passport, Kelsey has fostered relationships with municipalities, universities, and private
operators. Through these relationships, Kelsey works with parking managers and operators to
provide a better parking experience for their constituents. Kelsey works hand in hand with
clients to maximize the functionality of mobile technology. Additionally, Kelsey is an active
member of the Women in Parking organization and served on the IPMI Technology Committee.
Kelsey received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the Nicholson School of
Communication at the University of Central Florida.


Mary Gray Cunningham, Director of Product, Curbside Transactions, Passport

Mary is the Director of Product, Curbside Transactions at Passport. Mary analyzes trends and
competitive advantages in the marketplace to certify Passport’s solutions meet the needs of the
industry. Prior to joining Passport, Mary worked as an Associate at Red Ventures managing
continuous development and analyzing market data to increase customer website experience.
She graduated from North Carolina State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
