Professional Bio

Chrissy Mancini Nichols is Walker’s National Director of Curb Management and New Mobility. She has led over 100 curb management, parking, and mobility projects in cities large and small, ranging from right-sizing or eliminating parking requirements to planning and building transit solar microgrids, and building digital curb space in Ann Arbor and Minneapolis. She led a research and development initiative with six pilot cities nationwide to review and test technology to collect curb use inventory and data and create curb management plans and policies for implementation. Her grant development work has led to over $30 million in funding for smart curb management, electrification, and mobility infrastructure for local governments. Chrissy was previously the Director of Transportation Policy at the Metropolitan Planning Council, a regional planning organization in Chicago. There, she worked to pass transit-oriented development zoning reforms, build bus rapid transit, and refine two federal transportation bills and a state capital program to create more sustainable funding sources. She also led a strategy to create a new funding mechanism for the City of Chicago to fund $10 billion in transportation projects and redevelop Chicago Union Station through value capture financing. She led a financial analysis to renegotiate the City of Chicago’s parking concession agreement to reduce its annual payment. She is recognized in the industry with almost 50 articles and presentations on mobility and curb management.
