Professional Bio
Lisa Copeland joined ODU’s Transportation & Parking Services team early in 2020 as the Business Operations Manager. As an accomplished Accountant and Parking professional with highly valued experience, she has proven success and expertise of more than 16 years in governmental accounting, specifically municipal Parking Funds, and 18+ years of parking industry experience.
After 15 years as an Accountant III with the City of Norfolk’s Parking Division, Lisa accepted a private-sector engagement as an Implementation Consultant for a software development firm out of Austin, TX where she configured and installed cloud-based parking management systems at universities, municipalities, and hospitals across the United States.
Lisa’s career path runs parallel with the requirements of the Business Operations Manager. As such , her primary responsibility is managing the financial activity for the department’s $6.5 million annual budget, which spans nine budget units. Working with the Director and Associate Director, the Business Operations Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a balanced budget for the department.
Lisa is a proud Alumnus of Old Dominion University’s graduating Class of 2014. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Business Management, a degree which complements the role she fills with Transportation & Parking Services. Lisa also holds the designation of Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified University Financial Manager (CUFM).
