Julie Buffenbarger, Fellow American Concrete Institute, LEED AP BC+D

Julie K. Buffenbarger is a Technical Engineer for St. Marys Cement and a Senior Scientist and Sustainability Principal for Beton Consulting Engineers. She is an internationally recognized expert in sustainability, durability, service life and concrete mixture design. Her focus is on developing sustainable, constructable, and economic concrete mixtures for a variety of applications. She has also been involved in the development of environmental product declarations with product manufactures, and specifications with big box retailers and communities for the implementation of sustainable concrete materials in construction. She is heavily involved in ASTM and the American Concrete Institute - where she serves on responsibility, sustainability, material, and code committees advocating for the use of low carbon and sustainable concrete. Ms. Buffenbarger has worked with sustainable and novel materials for concrete for over 32 years.
