2026 Parksmart Advisor Training

Parksmart Advisors lead clients through the GBCI certification process for high-performing, sustainable parking structure design and construction. 

Offered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Institute (GBCI) alongside the suite of LEED rating systems, Parksmart is the only rating system dedicated to improving the quality and performance of parking structures.  As a unique building type, these structures offer unique opportunities to drive greater sustainability practices and outcomes at the intersection of parking, transportation, and mobility.  

IPMI is the exclusive USGBC Education Partner, and the only provider of the education required to earn this valuable certificate.  

Offers 9 Certification Points and 9 GBCI CE Credits.

Due to the online interactive nature of this course, this course is limited to 18 attendees.

Course Requirements:

• Purchase a copy of the Parksmart Certification standard.
• Attend all four live, instructor-led sessions.
• Pass assessment with a score of 70% or higher.
• All individuals who pass the assessment will be listed as approved Parksmart Advisors on USGBC’s listing and IPMI's directory of members who are trained advisors. 

Learning Objectives:

• Illustrate and detail the specific management, programmatic, technological, and structural elements of the certification.
• Evaluate a parking facility, including the tools, process, and procedures for submitting facilities for certification.
• Evaluate case examples against the Standard and determine acceptability or changes.
• Illustrate acceptable versus non-acceptable evidence for certification application.
• Review the Parksmart scorecard.
