Certificate program offers sustainability expertise and training at significant discount.

Each course provides evidence and documentation requirements for Parksmart Certification, as well as valuable web-based and downloadable resources. Participants will receive their Certificate of Completion after finishing all four courses and its related ten question assessment.

Parking Pricing, Recycling & More: Parksmart Sustainability Solutions Series 1

Offers 1 CAPP Point, 1 GBCI CE point, .01 CEU

These four modules are modeled after the first four elements for Section A: Management of the Parksmart Certification Standard: parking pricing, shared parking, transportation management association (TMA)/organization (TMO), and recycling program. Participants will able to: 

  • Manage spaces more efficiently among users with different destinations, demand, and duration of parking stay.
  • Describe the types of recycling programs, as well as identify direct and indirect benefits.
  • Describe what a TMA/TMO does and how to recognize the tools to create one for your community.
  • Explain four parking strategies that influence demand and pricing.
  • Identify points and documentation required for each element.

Sustainable Purchasing through Cleaning Procedures: Parksmart Sustainability Solution Series 2

Offers 1 CAPP Point, 1 GBCI CE point, .01 CEU

The four modules that make up this course are modeled after the elements 5 through 8 for Section A: Management of the Parksmart Certification Standard: Sustainable Purchasing Program, Proactive Operational Maintenance, Cleaning Procedures – Occupied Spaces, and Cleaning Procedures – Parking Decks. Participants will able to:

  • Explain how sustainable purchasing reduces environmental impacts from materials used in operations.
  • Report on how proactive operational maintenance encourages preventative maintenance to increase facility lifespan and minimize premature structural deterioration.
  • Predict how to make the best cleaning schedule for occupied spaces and compare the use of sustainable products.
  • Identify points and documentation required for each element.

Placemaking, Wayfinding and Mass Transit: Parksmart Sustainability Solution Series 3

Offers 1 CAPP Point, 1 GBCI CE point, .01 CEU

The four modules that make up this course are modeled after Section B: Programs - Placemaking, Access to Mass Transit, Wayfinding Systems Internal and Wayfinding Systems External of the Parksmart Standard. Participants will able to:

  • Describe benefits and strategies of placemaking as it relates to parking structure design.
  • Illustrate ways your facility can improve access to mass transit.
  • Identify the components and plan an effective external wayfinding system.
  • Recognize four types of parking guidance systems and benefits.
  • Identify points and documentation required for each element.

Traffic Flow, Car Share, Ride Share, & Fuel-Efficiency: Parksmart Sustainability Solutions Series 4

Offers 2 CAPP Points, 2 GBCI CE points, .02 CEUs

he four modules that make up this course are Traffic Flow Plan, Carshare Program, Rideshare Program, Low-emitting and Fuel-efficient Vehicles. Participants will able to:

  • Describe the benefits and strategies of traffic flow planning for improved egress from a parking structure.
  • Describe and promote the benefits of a car share program.
  • Identify the benefits of and encourage rideshare participation.
  • Implement parking structure incentives to promote the use of low-emitting and fuel-efficient vehicles.
  • Identify points and documentation required for each element.
