Harnessing Competing Priorities - University & Healthcare Parking & Transportation Operations

This presentation will highlight the importance of efficient demand management strategies to serve the various needs of users on joint university and healthcare campuses. Issues will include accommodating the various needs of all of these customers, how to build and manage a successful transportation program to serve all users, and how to operate a central call center or commuter office program to support such a significant daily operation.

Presenters:

Jeffrey Elsey, CAPP, PE, LEED AP, is an industry leader in developing parking and mobility system infrastructure strategies in the healthcare and university environments. His 15 years of experience have included performing parking planning studies, parking management reviews, mobility strategies to reduce parking demand and carbon emissions, technology enhancements, transit service planning, bike and pedestrian design, and system-wide financial evaluations.


Josh Stone, CAPP, the Director of Parking & Transportation Services at Virginia Commonwealth University. He oversees a system that has 13,500 parking spaces, 50+ facilities, a shuttle system that moves 40,000+ people a month, and a transit partnership with the City of Richmond that has moved over 1 million people it its 1 1/2 years of existence. Prior to coming to VCU, he spent eight years working in various roles at the University of Central Oklahoma.


Rob Maroney, CAPP, joined LAZ Parking in 2015 as the Vice President of Government Services. Rob started his career in municipal government, and during his 12 year career with Norfolk, VA, he served as the Director of Parking for one of the largest municipally owned systems in the United States. Most recently, Rob was the Director of Parking and Transportation for VCU overseeing the university’s parking, transportation, and fleet management programs.
