Office dynamics can play a significant role in the productivity and overall wellness of a workplace. As employee engagement has a direct impact on that workplace wellness, it is vital that we monitor and control the office dynamics to drive that engagement. Employee engagement is impacted by many factors, two of which include leadership and influence. Not all influencers are leaders; in fact, often influencers are not in management. These memorable members of the team can impact their organizations in extraordinary ways, influencing positive outcomes. This session will uncover the secrets of being memorable and becoming an influencer in the workplace.


Presenter:

Marcia Alvarado, PE, WGI

Marcia is responsible for all aspects of WGI’s structural engineering practice in the Tampa Bay region. Her responsibilities including client interaction, recruiting, and developing team members, and oversight of her department’s production and business operations. Marcia has 17 years of structural engineering and project management experience in healthcare, commercial, higher education, multi-story residential, federal, aviation, and parking garages. She is a licensed professional engineer in Florida, New York, and North Carolina. Marcia also serves as the justice, equity, diversity, inclusion council lead at WGI. She earned her Diversity and Inclusion certification from Cornell University and has been a speaker, panelist, and educator for diversity, equity, and inclusion since 2018.
