Butch retired from Galveston Police Department (GPD) in 2010 after 20 years on active duty, now a reserve officer. He's GPD’s Director of Support Services, with 31+ years in law enforcement, a Master Peace Officer Certification, and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Certified Instructor status. Appointed Galveston’s City Marshal in 2019, he leads code enforcement, parking programs, taxi and wrecker regulation, and other law enforcement tasks, continuing his commitment to community service.
